The Virginia School District encourages the maximum use of school facilities for community groups and organizations. The purpose of the building usage policy is to provide guidelines for community use of school facilities and equipment.
Use of School Facilities
Requests for use of school facilities by community organizations should be made through the Community Education Office. Organizations acting for and in behalf of, the entire community and for the general good, as determined by the Board, will not be assessed a rental charge upon presentation and acceptance of proper application. A rental fee schedule and payment policy shall be presented for review and approval of the school board. The fee may include the cost of custodial and supervisory service if deemed necessary.
Persons wanting to use a school district facility may obtain a reservation form from the Virginia Community Education Office. The completed form must be returned to the Community Education Office not later than two (2) weeks before the intended event. Availability of space, rental charges, and other related charges will be determined at the time of approval of the reservation application.
